BIG NEWS (FOR REAL THIS TIME)
A LONG HIATUS
Sorry for the long silence on website updates. Work on FRONTIER WARS: ONLINE began in February 2026, with an initial release slated for September 2026. As release approached, we realized the scope of a fantasy game was too big for our current resources. We weren’t confident we could deliver deep content, multiple classes and races, and rich lore.
So in August 2026 we pivoted to a post-apocalyptic setting. It’s closer to our own interests, and it better fits what our team can deliver as a polished, deep experience.
That means the game got another remake… yes, you heard that right. We’re excited to announce SURVIVOR WARS: ONLINE, a new MMORPG with action-packed combat on a dynamic world map where multiple factions are at war. A lot has changed from FRONTIER WARS: ONLINE, including combat systems, scope and features. We believe players will enjoy this new setting much more.
FRONTIER WARS: ONLINE IS CANCELLED? WHAT ABOUT THE STEAM PAGE?
Frontier Wars: Online is NOT cancelled. If our current ventures succeed, we want to return to it and apply the lessons that work from Survivor Wars: Online. Thank you to everyone who has followed us on this journey.
As for Steam, the new Survivor Wars: Online page is waiting on approval. Once it’s live, it will replace the Frontier Wars: Online link on the website. If you wishlisted Frontier Wars: Online, please wishlist Survivor Wars: Online too!
PLAYTEST (FOR REAL)
We can finally deliver on our promise of a public playtest, and the website has some new links! For now, “public” means you request a password on the game Discord to play in your browser. Join the Discord!
BROWSER AS A DEMO
We’ve finally settled on a plan for monetization and distribution.
The browser version is a demo. It doesn’t save your character’s progress after you disconnect, but you still get every in-game feature while you play. We’ll also be adding mobile controls to it.
The Steam version is built for better performance and a better experience. It will be a paid client linked to your Steam account, so your character and progression persist after you disconnect. Steam and browser players share the same servers.
Long-term, the game will be buy-to-play: a one-time purchase gets you a persistent account and every in-game feature. We have no plans for a monthly subscription or microtransactions at this time.
Buy during early access and you’ll get it at a discount. We plan to raise the price once the game leaves early access.
