A NEW NAME

You might have noticed some new changes to the site. We are excited to announce that SWARMMO has become FRONTIER WARS: ONLINE!

SWARMMO was originally the working title for the game. But, as development has continued over the past year, we’ve decided on a new name to better reflect the themes of the game. We are also excited to announce that the game now has a Steam Page! Wishlist the game today!

STEAM FOR DISTRIBUTION

Originally our intention with Frontier Wars: Online (SWARMMO) was for it to be purely a browser game. While we are committed to this choice, we have also decided to distribute a desktop client for the game on steam. Being on steam allows us to reach more players and gain more organic visiblity. Of course, the server archiecture remains the same, and all clients play on the same servers. So playing via desktop client or browser client will carry over your progression.

SPEAKING OF PROGRESSION

We are excited to announce that Frontier Wars: Online features an account system. By registering for an account, you are able to save your character progress! No more losing all your progress when you quit the game. The game still features an option to play WITHOUT registration if you want to quickly demo the game. However keep in mind that your progress will not be saved in this mode.

REGISTRATION OPENS SOON

Account registration is currently disabled but will be available once the alpha testing for the game goes live!

A NEW TECH STACK?

The previous website was developed using Vite.js. This new website is developed using the Phoenix web framework which provides fully featured tools to build responsive and dynamic websites. We want to eventually transform this website to be more integrated with the game server API and provide live data about events in the game world. This upgrade provides us a path towards that!

The OLD WEBSITE

We’ve kept the old version of the website up for archival purposes. You can visit it at any time by going to the following link: archived site
